I find the PragPub magazines from the guys at ‘The Pragmatic Bookshelf’ interesting. Each month they bring out a magazine with new developments. The magazine comes in PDF, for Kindle and in epub (good for Stanza on iPhone).
A classical essay from Peter Novig “Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years”.
Another insightful post from Joel Spolsky: The Duct Tape Programmer.

The New Monte Rosa Hut is opening its doors this weekend. The hut was build as a joint project between the ETH Zuerich, SAC, the ‘Hochschule Luzern – Technik & Architektur’ and EMPA. It’s a fascinating project in many ways: architecture, energy efficiency (90% of the energy is produced by the hut itself) and construction challenges (the hut is situated between three glaciers with no gondola to the hut).
Take a look at the pictures about the construction.
