Somaly Mam – Creating a world without slavery

Over this Thanksgiving Weekend I read the story of Somaly Mam.

“The Road of Lost Innocence: The True Story of a Cambodian Heroine” (Somaly Mam)

Somaly Mam seeks to save and socially reintegrate victims of sexual slavery in Southeast Asia. You can learn more about her work at www.somaly.org

Knitting Socks

I bought a nice skein of sock yarn from Baywood Yarns. The yarn is dyed by hand in San Mateo, California. I found the yarn at my favorite Knitting Store Nine Rubies in San Mateo.

Of course, I needed some help to refresh my memory on how to knit socks. I used this pattern for sizing, heel and toe. For the gusset, I prefer a different pattern.

Swiss Skiing Champions

The good old times! Reminds me of the many hours in front of TV crossing fingers for the swiss skiing stars. (Even my big favorite Ingemar Stenmark is on one of the pics ;) ).
